In the 18 years since Oregon State’s “Death With Dignity” law took effect, about 750 terminally ill residents have used doctor written prescriptions of lethal drugs to end their lives. Such prescribing is also legal in four other U.S. states - New Mexico, Washington, Vermont and Montana.
