The first women-only mosque in the United States recently opened in Los Angeles, California, with the aim of empowering Muslim women by being more welcoming to female worshippers than traditional mosques. Since its opening two months ago, The Women’s Mosque of America has been generating discussion about a woman’s place in Islam. VOA Correspondent Elizabeth Lee reports from Los Angeles.
